Developmental Editing

This in-depth assessment focuses on making sure your story works on a foundational level - and provides guidance on how to strength your story and get it to the next level through potentially significant restructuring and revision.

A developmental edit addresses story elements like plot, conflict/stakes, character development, world building, themes, pacing, structure, supportive subplots, genre and reader expectations, and more.You’re in the right place if you:

  • Need professional help wading through the weeds of your nth draft so you can make meaningful progress toward a final draft.

  • Recognize there are structural challenges and gaps in your story that need external support and guidance to improve

Line Editing

This edit dials down to the paragraph and sentence level to help ensure your story is clear and consistent.

The in-line edit refines the words on the page and story elements resulting in a cohesive, complete, and strong story. This edit focuses on tone, voice, pacing, flow, world and character details, transitions, and plot execution. While a line edit will encompasses moderate copy editing, it is not focused on catching typos or spelling, grammar, or punctuation errors.
